Decent Threads is rooted in Montgomery County, PA. We feel it is our duty and responsibility as a local business to nourish our roots, and for that reason, we have chosen to donate 10% of all clothing sales to The Laurel House, a local non-profit supporting individuals and families impacted by domestic violence. Our values as a business prioritize decency as a way of life. In order to grow and flourish, we need to care for the soil in which we’re rooted, and that means taking care of our community.
In our eyes, success is measured more-so by enriching the lives of those around us than a number in a bank account. We believe that people have good hearts. They care. Part of our mission is to channel that caring energy into products that give back both socially and environmentally. By doing so, people can feel good about what they wear and the impact their decision to wear our clothing has both near and far. Here at Decent, we’re looking to see what we can do at home, and we’re excited about the possibilities that might someday branch-out from our local efforts.
Whether or not you’ve heard about The Laurel House before now, they’ve served our community in supporting and aiding those impacted by domestic violence for over 40 years. They offer programs such as a hotline and textline, housing, supportive services, advocacy and accompaniment, and prevention education. Through their thrift shops, Laurel’s Loft and Marian’s Attic, they raise funds to support the charity and its programs. At Decent, we’re thrilled to contribute to their efforts, and we couldn’t do so without your support!
That being said, maybe our clothing isn’t your style, but you still want to support The Laurel House. All good! If that’s the case, there are several ways you can contribute or get involved. You can donate to their thrift stores, donate money, volunteer, or just help spread the word and raise awareness about the organization.
For more information about the program, how to get involved, to make donations, or for educational info regarding domestic violence, visit their website at https://laurel-house.org.
Much love and appreciation!
