Our Story
About
Decent Threads is an eco-conscious, community-conscious clothing brand founded by Jesse Russell in 2025. Decency and integrity are quintessential to our existence. That’s why we source our blank clothing wholesale from SanMar, a family-owned company that emphasizes sustainability; print and design on the AllMade line of fabric, inspired by their eco-friendly approach and commitment to positively impacting the world; and print our designs with Superior Ink, a leader in sustainable screen printing. Decent Threads aims to be just that – a decent thread – that fosters connectivity in a wholesome, transparent, and beneficial fashion (pun intended). We do our best to be our best and to forward those efforts to our supporters by providing comfortable, stylish clothing, engaging in charitable initiatives with a portion of every sale, and remaining open to learning and growing as we and the world evolve.

Decency
Decent (adjective): marked by moral integrity, kindness, and goodwill.
Decency is the heart of our business. It’s the life-force that fuels and sustains our efforts, not just as a business, but as caring members of an interconnected ecology. When action is sourced from a place of goodwill, it has a ripple effect that isn’t always seen but is often felt. We’re doing the best we can, and our best is always changing. We don’t claim to be perfect or to be the best, but our intentions are always rooted in integrity.
Integrity
We cannot do what we do at Decent Threads without integrity. We feel that transparency and accountability are imperative for growth. When there’s a way for us to do something better, we want to know how, and we want to try. When we make a mistake, we want to own it and learn from it. If we say we’re going to do something, then we will go to the fullest extent possible to mean what we say and do it. We are not a non-profit, and we won’t pretend to be, but we aren’t just doing this for the profit; we are in it for more than just that. We aim to treat our supporters like family and not sell them anything we wouldn’t buy ourselves.
Charity
An inextricable component of Decent Threads is our charitable initiative. A portion of every sale will be donated to a cause, an organization, or a community in need, no matter what. We feel that a charitable approach and mindset breed health and well-being – physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. We will release reports and receipts displaying our charitable contributions, not to boast, but to commit to our promise of integrity and to raise awareness in the event that someone wants to contribute but doesn’t particularly care for our brand for whatever reason.
Environment
Environment (noun): the circumstances, objects, or conditions by which one is surrounded: the factors and influences that affect the growth, health, progress, functioning, etc., of someone or something.
Environment is everything. We aim to nurture the environment through sustainability, stewardship, compassion, and awareness. For Decent Threads to truly succeed, not simply financially, it must serve the collective health of our environment near and far. It must serve the environment of our bodies by reducing toxic fabrics and materials, and it must serve nature by minimizing and negating toxic business practices.
Our Philosophy
We believe perfection is the enemy of good. True progress comes from striving toward decency — not flawless outcomes, but thoughtful choices made with integrity and care. Our philosophy is woven into every thread: eco-conscious fabrics, ethical practices, transparency in action, and a commitment to community.
